Captain James Deck has over 6,000 hours PIC time, and has flown over 50 different types of aircraft.

James graduated from High School in Wake Forest, NC in 1995, then served in the United States Navy from 1995 - 1999.  In the Navy, James was assigned to VF-143 ("The Pukin Dogs") as an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  He worked as Plane Captain, as a line division supervisor, and in the airframes shop, where he performed structural and hydraulics repairs on the F-14 Tomcat.  

After the Navy, James attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, completing his B.S. in Aeronautical Science in 2001.  During his time at Embry-Riddle, James earned his Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and Flight Instructor ratings.

In 2000, James began teaching tailwheel and upset training in multiple tailwheel aircraft.  

In the summer of 2002, James towed gliders in New Mexico and earned a Commercial Glider rating.

In October, 2002, James was hired as a First Officer with Great Lakes Aviation, flying the Beech 1900D.  One year later, James was upgraded to Captain at Great Lakes.

In 2004, James left Great Lakes Aviation to join NetJets Aviation to fly the Cessna Citation X.  In 2006, James was upgraded to Captain and transitioned to the Cessna Citation Encore.  

Today, James continues to be an active Captain at NetJets, flying the Cessna Citation.
